Tasked with creating a new short logo for Southern Sky Brands, I drew inspiration from the "Welcome to Mississippi" highway sign. By attaching the SSB brand to the iconic font, the logo establishes a subconscious familiarity between the brand and its Mississippi consumer base. For residents who see this sign often, it is a reminder of arriving home. Safety, comfort, and community are virtues for any company to display, but are especially important for a brand establishing itself in an emerging industry like cannabis in a small-town state like Mississippi.

I incorporated both, the font of the highway sign, and elements of SSB's main logo font to create this unique letter-mark.
